Yung Gene, is an artist with Pensacola ties and Fayetteville roots. He is no new-comer to the industry. Since an early age he has been working with pioneers like Boogie and G-Money. Yung Gene can proudly say, that he has had an opportunity to work with several A-list artists, including T.I. He hopes with hard work and dedication he'll be able to work with A-lister, Yo Gotti. Acknowledging, that Yo Gotti is also an artist that he "really anticipates" working with because he can appreciate his music.
Formerly a part of the click Darkside, he admits they're no longer a group, but "still connected; just doing solo projects," he says.
Boogie and G-Money are parts of the group Polo that Yung Gene has been affiliated with for well over 6 years. They have a movement going on for their Upsouth mission to bring great music to the south. The infamous, Versitile is a member of the Polo click and you can hear his collaborate with Yung Gene on the track below.
Since being independent he has taken credit for being Top 10 on Reverbnation for the 26, (Fayetteville, North Carolina) acquiring his own mobile studio and the creation of his own label.Yung Gene is CEO and founder of the Chevvy Gang. This young boss is already recruiting raw talent to his label. Surprisingly, he is willing to work with any artist that is truly dedicated to the craft of music. He admits that independence gives him more freedom and he is able to "see" more of his money. However, "working with a label will provide better distribution," he noted.
He admits that the people inspire him to do music. He can't be labeled to one genre of music because "I do rock & roll, gospel; I do it all," Gene exclaims.
